Once Max finds Wes he realizes something went terribly wrong, Jane and Wes aren’t together.
He knows they would have stood by him during his recovery, but he didn’t want them to have to take care of him or put up with his moodiness. He didn’t expect it to take over three years though. Max has been working hard to regain the use of his legs so he can go find Jane and Wes and be a family once again. I'm generously rounding up from 1.5 stars only because I read both books. Read something else- unless you like unedited nonsense. Seriously? THAT'S sexy?Īnd how does a woman have sex standing on one leg with the other over the man's shoulder? Umm.? It sounded like a poorly done step-by-step approach to BDSM now and then, and the characters showed no emotional connection to each other.Īnd what is with the author's fixation with spit? At least 4 times there was a string of it between two mouths that had just kissed, or there was spit dribbling out of the corner of Max's mouth, etc. Toddlers don't reason things out the way she did or sound like that at ALL. The little girl's conversation waffled back and forth as though she were an actual 2-year-old sometimes, but more often she sounded about 6. Then add the stupid name she gave her daughter, and now you have Wes, Max, and sometimes Mas. Is it so hard to say something as simple as "Wes said" or "she said"? I also think it's lazy writing to give both men 3-letter names because it's another way for the reader to get mixed up.
I don't want to have to go back 3 pages to see whose section it is or determine the back and forth between characters. Many reviewers have pointed out the difficulty in figuring out which character is speaking, and this just gets worse and worse. However, the further the story progressed, the more I disliked it. I started out enjoying this series despite its tremendous need for editing.
