Delilah doesn’t know what to do with her new life after being ‘saved’ from the compound. Heart Recaptured (Hades Hangmen, #2): This one follows Delilah and Ky. A lot is going on in this book, but it’s a great introduction into the series. There is a lot of tension and miscommunication between these two, but I love that Mae was slowly able to break down Styx’s wall. Because of a stutter, Styx chooses not to speak and that puts a lot of pressure on him as the president of the club. Mae is an interesting protagonist and it was hard hearing her story. Styx and Mae were such interesting dynamics. And the reader doesn’t feel out of touch or confused by any means.

I don’t hate that the reader is thrown into it everything right away. It Ain’t Me, Babe (Hades Hangmen #1): The first book in the series isn’t an easy one. There are a lot of trigger warnings for this series including sexual assault and rape, domestic abuse, death, death of animals, child abuse, self-harm, racism and many other warnings. But with all this darkness, there is also light, romance and family. It’s hard and heavy and sometimes really difficult to read. This series deals with things from religions cults to drug cartels and the KKK. But if you like dark series with questionable characters and events – then go for it. It’s dark, it deals with a lot of triggering issues and the characters do some very questionable things throughout the series. I’ve said it before, but I do want to focus on that here again. I’ve been able to read books that include darker themes.

But as I’ve read more and more romance, especially MC romances over the past couple of years. If I read this series a few years ago I would have hated it. I tried to keep them to a minimum but it’s hard to talk about the series as a whole, without talking about certain characters and events. It kept on popping up in places, but I was never really ready to pick it up. I’ve wanted to pick the series one up for a while. I’ve talked about this series a few times in the past couple of months and I thought it was time for me to share my thoughts on the Hades Hangmen series by Tillie Cole.
